Do get married on the beach in the city of North Myrtle Beach! We are allowed to perform ceremonies on the beach in North Myrtle Beach or even in the county areas of Myrtle Beach and also Surfside Beach, Garden City, etc…. (Sometimes a travel fee will be added depending on where you want to get married.) We and our chapel are located in the city of North Myrtle Beach, so we would be more that happy to marry you on the Beach here!
Don’t think that you know where everything is located. Streets are very confusing especially along the Grand Strand where we have numbered streets in all of the cities as well as "North" and "South" numbers. We are located at: 710-A 5th Ave., South in North Myrtle Beach! And Don’t use MapQuest or Google Maps to try and get our address unless you put the entire address in including the city, it will give you an address in Surfside Beach where we have never been located and which is about 25 miles in the wrong direction! Do feel free to ask us for a map or directions… or visit one of the local Chambers of Commerce for a free map of the Grand Strand. They would be more than happy to help you with any problems.
Don’t think that you can come down here and get married the same day. There is a 24 hour waiting period to get your South Carolina Marriage license which you must have prior to your wedding. You can apply anywhere in the state of South Carolina and there is information on our website in more detail about the Horry (Pronounced or-ee) County Probate offices in the Myrtle Beach area. You can apply one day and pick it up 24 hours later: however, they are not open on the weekends and holidays, so if you apply on Tuesday at 1:06 pm you can pick it up Wednesday at 1:07 pm. Do bring your Drivers license and your Social Security card.
Do allow extra travel time for traffic problems especially during the summer and holiday months. If you are coming from the Myrtle Beach area to our location in North Myrtle Beach allow apx. 1 hour for traveling.
Do allow you dog (or cat??) to be in the ceremony. We are dog lovers and understand that sometimes they are "family" too! Feel free to contact us to discuss times for ceremonies including pets as there are certain time restrictions for animals to be allowed on the Beach in North Myrtle Beach.
Don’t have your flower girl throw silk petals on the Beach since they do not decay quickly they are considered "littering" and you could be fined. They are also harmful to the sea life if they get into the Ocean. Fresh petals are OK... see our "Free Ideas" for more information.
Don’t think that you have to wear a wedding dress or suit etc…. to get married in. This is your wedding day! You can wear formal attire, tropical, shorts, jeans, bathing suits, pant suits, WHATEVER…. It’s your day, you tell us! (O.K. there is one limit…. "Birthday suits" are not allowed on the Beaches in South Carolina! No nudes please!!)
Don’t think that you can fireworks during or included in your wedding. It is illegal to fire off fireworks with out a permit on the Beach in North Myrtle Beach and in most of the city as well. (Permits are usually only given to "professionals".)
Don’t assume that there are "private" beaches or areas of the Beach that you can get married at. There are NO privately owned Beaches in Myrtle, North Myrtle, Garden City or any other areas along the Grand Strand Beaches. Do call us to ask about less "populated" or less crowded areas of the Beach. As it is all public Beaches, Don’t ask people to move from where you want to get married or take a picture. Most will get out of the way anyway. But, Do be prepared to "adapt" just in case!
Don’t look for a waterfall… there are none here. Well, there are some man-made ones at some of the "Putt Putt" courses which are really pretty… and I Do know several people that work at or own some of them… so, I’ll ask if you want me too!?
Do think outside of the box when it comes to the location for your ceremony. Besides beautiful North Myrtle Beach we have beautiful golf courses, lush parks, lovely areas at hotels and motels for ceremonies., our chapel, garden area, a local winery, even some of the local clubs, bars and entertainment areas like, the aquarium offers wedding packages…. The sky’s the limit!!
